Dust cloud!

Over half way through my first rotation here in Simandou and we're in the midst of a huge dust cloud at the moment that covers much of West Africa

So all planes into and out of here are grounded (the local airport isn't the most sophisticated) and it gives the place an otherworldy feel.

Enjoying the work here and being onsite, thankful to the nice folk at skype for their computer program!  There is a great crew of people out here and that has certainly helped ease being here.

Where's the mountain (usually you can see a mountain just beyond the camp edge)?
